Austin - UPI

Country music star Randy Travis was sentenced Thursday to 180 days in jail after pleading guilty to drunk driving in Texas, officials said. Travis, 53, was arrested Aug. 7 after he was found lying naked in a road after crashing his car in a construction zone. The New York Daily News said the singer's 180-day jail sentence was deferred for two years and he may not have to spend time behind bars if he satisfies all the requirements of his plea deal. To avoid jail time, he must complete 100 hours of community service, check in to an in-patient alcohol treatment facility for a minimum of 30 days and install an ignition interlock device on any vehicle he intends to operate in the next two years, the Daily News said.
