New York - UPI

Marvin Hamlisch's wake and funeral will take place in New York and be open to the public, the late composer's representatives said. Hamlisch, 68, died Monday in Los Angeles after a brief illness. The exact cause of his death has not been disclosed. The Emmy, Grammy, Tony, Oscar and Pulitzer Prize winner is best known for penning the music for the stage show "A Chorus Line" and the film "The Way We Were." The New York Times said public visitations will be held at the Frank E. Campbell Funeral Chapel in Manhattan Sunday and Monday, while his funeral will take place Tuesday at Temple Emanu-El in Manhattan. All services are open to the public, the newspaper said.
