Maria Menounos talks living with her parents and losing 40 pounds

Extra host Maria Menuonos opened up about living with her parents while interviewing for The Ellen Show on Tuesday. The 35-year-old journalist told host Ellen DeGeneres that she currently resides in Los Angeles with her parents, her boyfriend of 15 years, Kevin Undergaro, and Joe, a friend and co-worker of who "is family". The brunette beauty told DeGeneres that in Greek heritage it is normal for several generations to live under the same roof. She added that her parents take advantage of the situation to pressure her and her boyfriend to get married. Menuonos stopped by The Ellen Show to promote her upcoming reality TV show Chasing Maria Menounos. In a separate interview, she told the Ladies Home Journal that her life wasn't always as glamorous as it is now and that she struggled with weight issues when she was younger. "I grew a size every year," she confessed. "I didn't gain the Freshman 15, I gained the Freshman 40." "I was in and out of the hospital multiple times for exhaustion, malnutrition and dehydration. I realized my whole quest to have an amazing body needed to be seriously reevaluated. Just because you're thin, doesn't mean you're healthier." Menounos's upcoming reality show will document her day-to-day personal and professional life.
