Jimmy Fallon injures hand, undergoes surgery to repair it

Friday's edition of The Tonight Show was canceled after host Jimmy Fallon injured his hand and underwent surgery to repair the damage.

"Tweeting with one hand," the 40-year-old comedian posted in a message, alongside a photo of his bandaged fingers.

"Tripped and caught my fall (good thing)! Ring caught on side of table almost ripped my finger off (bad thing)," he tweeted.

"#drugged #blessed," read another message. "I'm doing well and thanks for good wishes everyone."

"Hey guys - unfortunately tonight's taping has been cancelled due to Jimmy injuring his hand. He's totally fine but we'll be airing a repeat," said a Friday post from The Tonight Show Twitter account. "If you had tickets to tonight's show, we'll be in contact with you to reschedule your tix."
