Chris Christie flip flops, prefers Bon Jovi to Bruce Springsteen

Republican presidential candidate Chris Christie surprised those aware of his music taste when he confessed to preferring Bon Jovi over longtime favorite Bruce Springsteen.

An interview with Lifezette confirmed the N.J. governor's new partiality after no Springsteen tunes were played at the launch of his presidential campaign last month. Instead, another of the state's natives, Bon Jovi, was heard crooning through the speakers.

The Daily Beast is calling the sudden switch the "biggest flip-flop ever," as the controversial politician's Springsteen addiction was one of his more approachable characteristics.

During the Lifezette interview, in a game of "This or That," Christie and his wife, Mary Pat, were faced with the question "Jon Bon Jovi or Bruce Springsteen?" after choosing Bradley Cooper over Anderson Cooper.

"This is a hard one," the first lady of New Jersey said. "Bon Jovi."

"Bon Jovi," Christie agreed with a smirk.

The sudden change in the presidential hopeful's musical taste comes just a day after Jovi himself hosted a fundraiser for Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton. The rock celebrity reportedly gave Christie permission to use his music during his Republican campaign.

"My friendships are apolitical and yes, I absolutely gave him permission to use the songs," Jovi told Billboard.
