Turkey Zambia Trade Relations Solidified.
Lusaka - XINHUA

The Zambian government said on Wednesday that it intends to embark on an exercise aimed at cementing business ties with Turkey through private sector linkages.

The Zambian embassy in Turkey said it has embarked on an exercise to connect Zambian businesses to Turkish counterparts for possible partnerships.

"This is aimed at helping Zambian entrepreneurs in various sectors of the economy to strengthen and broaden the scope of their businesses and position them to contribute more to the economic development of the country and create more jobs," according to a statement released by the embassy.

It added that so far six Zambian companies have had their business proposals requesting for Turkish business partners submitted to Turkey's Foreign Economic Relations Board to find credible business partners for the Zambian firms.

According to the statement, authorities at the Zambian embassy have expressed confidence that efforts to link Zambian and Turkish partners for business development will yield positive results, especially that there was growing interest among the Turkish business community to invest in Zambia.
