The Economic Development Sector of the Council of Ministers affirmed, in its meeting Tuesday at the Cabinet's Secretariat General headed by Ali Mahmoud, the Minister of Finance and National Economy, the need to give attention to the transport sector and to increase the effectiveness. The sector gave a directive for continuity of the work in the water harvesting projects and electrification of agricultural projects to achieve the aspired development, instructing the Ministry of Commerce to open new markets for the Sudanese goods besides stimulation of domestic trade. The sector discussed the plans of the Ministries of Transport, Roads, and Bridges, Water Resources and Electricity and Commerce for the year 2013, which were presented by the concerned ministers. The plans included the activities and projects the ministries intend to implement during the current year which prepared, generally, according to the directives of the Five-Year Plan (2012-2016) and the indicators of the Tripartite Program for the sustainability of economic growth.
