Saudi-Turkmen Joint Committee for Economic and Trade Cooperation on Wednesday kicked off its 2nd session under the joint chairmanship of Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Commerce and Industry Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah, and Turkmenistan’s Minister of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations Bayar Ibaev. Addressing the meeting, Dr. Al-Rabiah stressed Saudi Arabia’s keenness to strengthen and develop relations with Turkmenistan, especially in light of historical and cultural relations between the two countries. He urged further cooperation between the two sides, the exchange of expertise, promotion of joint investments, activation of the role of the private sector, and facilitation of the entry of Saudi investors into Turkmenistan. For his part, Ibaev called on the Saudi side to take advantage of his country’s sectors of gas, oil, textiles, cotton cultivation, agricultural products, the exchange of experiences, and the organization of meetings and exhibitions in the upcoming phase.
