Qatar’s Ministry of Economy and Commerce launched Tuesday Al Furjan Markets project, a partnership between the Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning, the Ministry of Finance, Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Qatar Development Bank.The inauguration ceremony was attended by HE Minister of Economy and Trade Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al-Thani, HE Minister of Municipality and Urban Planning Sheikh Abdul Rahman bin Khalifa Al-Thani, HE Minister of Transport Jassim bin Saif bin Ahmed Al Sulaiti, HE Chairman of the Qatari Business Association Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al-Thani and HE Chairman of Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al-Thani in addition to a number of businessmen.Speaking at inauguration ceremony, HE Minister of Economy and Commerce Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al-Thani said Al Furjan Markets project was an implementation to the directives of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani. These directives are closely followed-up by HE the Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al- Thani. The project is a result of hard work and close cooperation between several stakeholders in the state, he added.HE the Minister of Economy said the project seeks to provide basic needs and services, to promote the growth of the commercial sector, to contribute effectively to the economic growth in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030, and to create an economic and sustainable environment.
