The second edition of the three-day Qatar International Exhibition and Conference for Transport and Logistics opens at the Doha Exhibition Center here Tuesday. The Trans4 Conference will be held at the same time and venue as the International Exhibition for Transport and Logistics exhibition, and will focus on the vital role of the transport sector and related sectors in Qatar, which play a pivotal role in promoting trade between Qatar and the world, organisers said. The theme of the conference is ‘Developing Transport and Logistics Services in Qatar and the GCC countries’. The conference will also address the proposed plans for the development of existing infrastructure, and the challenges for the transport sector that influence the supply, services, logistics and procurement sectors. The conference will mull the benefits of investing in Qatar, and the promising opportunities for investors, both local and international, as well as for manufacturers and supply and procurement companies. The conference will include six working sessions attended by 18 speakers, to discuss the following topics like: Railway links of the GCC region, airport and the future of the aviation industry, road transport networks, maritime transport and related services, Shipping and logistics – supplies and procurement industries, and Security systems for transport and logistics, organisers said.
