The Yemeni Organization for Promoting Integrity (OPI)is to organize on Sunday a workshop on transparency in finance and electoral spending in Yemen in cooperation with the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES). The OPI chairman Ahmed Al-Zikri made clear that the workshop aims to create a legal environment that provides a transparent mechanism able to adjust the funding and political spending as well as to strengthen the civil society's monitoring mechanism in political financing. He stressed that the project, which is implemented by (OPI) in Yemen, is part of the project "Enhancing Transparency in Political Finance in the Arab Region," which is implemented by the Arab Region Parliamentarians Against Corruption (ARPAC) with the partnership of the IFES, and funded by the office of the U.S.-Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI)
