Seoul - Yonhap

The number of local construction companies shutting down rose for the third straight year in 2013, as South Korea struggles with stagnant market conditions, a report said Thursday. According to the report by the Construction Association of Korea (CAK), the total number of builders in the country as of late last month fell to 59,265, a 1 percent dip compared to the year before. The 612 net drop comes after numbers that peaked at 60,588 in 2010.
