At the end of September, France sales of new cars boosted by 3.4 percent after saling 142,211 vehicles compared to the same month last year, official data showed on Tuesday. In particular, French car sales federation CCFA reported 4.1-percent rise in French-made brands to 77,489 new cars, according to its monthly report. September rise stemmed mainly from a strong performance of Renault which provided 37,940 units to local clients, up 18.1 percent from September 2012. As to PSA Peugeot Citroen, the country's auto giant sold 6.8-percent less vehicles, according to the report. With the aim to breathe life into the sluggish auto industry, the French government aimed at bolstering production of environmentally friendly vehicles via a package of measures to rescue the sector.
