Manila - Arabstoday

Filipino job agencies for Hong Kong have stopped recruiting manpower ostensibly due to the high placement charges being levied upon them by their foreign counterparts.According to Society of Hong Kong Accredited Recruiters of the Philippines, Inc. (SHARP), president Alfredo Palmiery, they were compelled by circumstances to halt the recruitment and deployment of labourers, particularly household workers.“It is with utmost sadness, but with a very realistic outlook, that we, at SHARP, have to declare a moratorium on the recruitment and deployment of HSWs to Hong Kong until such time that our counterparts and their employers have satisfactorily addressed the issue,” said SHARP President Alfredo Palmiery.Hong Kong is one of the biggest employers of Filipino maids. source : Gulfnews
