Baghdad - NINA

A member of the parliamentary Committee on Finance, Nora Al-Abjari said "not paying dues to oil companies working in the Kurdistan region is the contention point between the two governments , which led to the delay in approving the budget ." She told the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA / "The Kurdistan Government is committed that the federal government should pay financial dues to oil companies operating in the region," noting that "there is a violation by the Kurdistan government , as it has not pay the federal government any amount for what is produced by the oil companies in the region since 2003 until now. "She predicted that: "the committee formed for this purpose will reach a final agreement between the two governments this week. She pointed out: "The Acting Minister of Finance said the budget will reach to Parliament this week."It is mentioned that the Minister of Natural Resources in the Kurdistan Regional Government, Ashti Horami had announced earlier that "if the government in Baghdad failed to secure the rights of the Kurdistan region, as stipulated in the permanent constitution , we would resort to an alternative plan, which is to export the region's oil and deduct dues of those companies from the revenues "
