The Sharjah Investment and Development Authority, known as Shurooq, participated in the recently-concluded China International Fair for Investment and Trade (Ningxia 2012) held at the Exhibition Centre in Yinchuan city. Shurooq’s stand received significant notice from government and private companies, as well as investors and official figures, including Chinese Vice-Premier Li Keqiang, during the five-day event where they acquainted themselves with investment opportunities available in the emirate. The visitors were given a chance to gain insights into development and tourism projects undertaken by Shurooq, both those that have been completed, as well as the projects that are still under construction. The visitors reported that they were impressed with facilities provided to investors, as well as the legislation and laws that have been put in place to ensure the safety of investments and protect the rights of all parties involved in the investment activity. “The Arab-Chinese business event offered us a precious opportunity to meet with business people and investors to get a bird’s eye view on the investment climate in China and highlight investment opportunities in the UAE. It also offered us a unique platform to strengthen avenues of cooperation between the UAE and China and help take bilateral economic and commercial relations to higher levels in view of shared visions and mutual interest between both countries,” Shurroq chief executive officer Marwan bin Jassim Al Sarkal said.   He added that Shurooq highlighted the emirate’s business potential and investment opportunities and its completed and undergoing projects, as well as the most important and promising sectors in the future according to a business study recently conducted by Shurooq. Shurooq’s stand received a strong response from various participants, especially the Chinese, during the five-day event, where several meetings were held with investors and businessmen as well as with representatives of leading Chinese companies to discuss the available investment opportunities in both countries. Al Sarkal revealed that Shurooq is currently studying investment options and partnerships for Chinese investors, stressing that strong connections. From : Khalij
