Beirut - Arabstoday

The Lebanese Association of Businessmen warned that economic conditions had deteriorated over the past months, urging the government to improve its performance to shore up the situation. “We do not exaggerate if we say we have crossed the red line on all aspects. There is no electricity, water, job opportunities or growth, and public debt is growing,” head of the association Zaydan Shamit said. Shamit called on Prime Minister Najib Mikati to work together with the private sector to help insulate the economy from the impacts of political and security turmoil. From DailyStar
