MP Adil Abdulrahman Al-Asoumi, stressed, during his participation in the meeting of the Economic and Financial Affairs Committee of the Arab Parliament, the need to develop a legislative system adopts a mechanism for the application of the key decisions taken in previous Arab Summits, and to adopt a strategy to follow up on the relations among the institutions and organizations to bolster joint Arab action. He explained the Arab Parliament must activate its role in member countries and set up the principles of a common Arab market. He added the Economic and Financial Affairs Committee discussed the establishment of the Arab Parliament Office in Cairo, and the possibility of holding a seminar on studying the issue of Arab water and food security, and discussed the approval of the proposed draft on the declaration of the Greater Arab Free Trade, as well as the final statement for the year 2012. The Committee agreed to postpone the discussion of the draft budget of the Arab Parliament for the year of 2014 and the formation of a subcommittee on studying the budget that consists of Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Algeria and Tunisia.
