US stocks closed higher Thursday, ending a five-day losing streak with telecoms leading sector advancers.
The S&P 500 SPX, +0.31% closed 6.50 points, or 0.3%, higher at 2,078.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, +0.53% erased a triple-digit loss to close with a gain of 92.93 points, or 0.5%, at 17,733.10.
The Nasdaq Composite COMP, +0.21% ended the session up 9.98 points, or 0.2%, at 4,844.91.
