Grain futures closed mixed in Chicago Thursday, with the dollar index down 0.71 percent to 79.34 on the International Exchange. Corn was off 1/4 to up 1/4, soybeans were up 5 3/4 to up 19 3/4, wheat was off 3 3/4 to off 7 3/4 and oats were up 5 1/2 to up 7 1/2. Corn prices were mixed, with support provided by concerns of tight supplies and a weaker dollar. Wheat prices slipped as wheat stocks remain elevated. Soybean prices moved higher, with a U.S. Department of Agriculture export report considered bullish on the market. The prices: Corn: Dec 7.57 up 1/4, Mar 7.57 1/4 off 1/4, May 7.53 1/4 up 1/4, Jly 7.46 1/4 up 1/4. Soybeans: Nov 15.51 1/2 up 19 3/4, Jan 15.51 up 18 3/4, Mar 15.18 1/2 up 17, May 14.70 up 5 3/4. Wheat: Dec. 8.69 1/4 off 3 3/4, Mar 8.79 3/4 off 4 1/4, May 8.79 3/4 off 4 3/4, Jly 8.43 3/4 off 7 3/4. Oats: Dec 3.70 3/4 up 7 1/2, Mar 3.74 3/4 up 6 3/4, May 3.74 up 5 1/2, Jly 3.72 1/4 up 5 1/2.
