Worries over the US economic recovery have been building over the past couple of weeks ever since the government revealed that the world’s largest economy has been growing far more weakly in the first half of 2011 than economists expected. In a reversal of earlier forecasts, economists now believe there is a greater chance of another US recession. In the oil markets, prices recovered alongside equities.
