Qatar stock exchange up 0.23%

The Qatar Exchange was in the green area Monday adding19.11 points (or 0.23%) to advance to 8,477.76 points from 8,458.65 Sunday. The volume of the shares traded was up to 47,741,115 from 5,400,266 on Sunday and the value of shares increased to QR1,132,928,605.47 from QR141,015,484.50 Sunday. Among the top gainers were Industries Qatar which was up 0.73% to QR138.50, Barwa real estate company rose 3.09% to QR30.00, International Islamic Bank gained 0.78% to QR51.70 and Al Kaleej Takaful up by 0.88% to QR46.00. The Banking and Financial sector index was down 1.77 points while Consumer Goods and Services sector index gained 17.48 points. The industrial sector rose by 9.54 points while insurance sector lost 2.80 points.
