Qatar Exchange index gained 251.06 points (or 2.61%) this week when trading closed at 9,870.90 points Thursday afternoon. The trading value of QR 1,752,530,138.21 this week is an increase by 2.99% over QR 1,701,652,385.32 noted the previous week. The trading volume of 42,979,247 shares is a decrease by 2.02% compared with 43,863,400 shares last week. The 20,590 transactions this week is a drop by 4.11% compared to 21,473 transactions the previous week. The market capitalization this week was QR 537,350,790,477.10 an increase by 2.21% over last week's QR 525,718,101,218.43. Banks and financial services led the traded value this week with 29.89% of the total traded value. Industries accounted for 22.21%. Real estate accounted for 17.88% and consumer goods and services accounted for 15.55%. Real estate led the traded volume this week with 33.92% of the total volume traded. Banks and financial services accounted for 26.68%. Consumer goods and services accounted for 11.72%, and transportation accounted 11.50%. Banks and financial services topped the number transactions this week with 27.04% of the total transactions. Industries accounted for 20.78%. Real estate accounted for 19.75%, and consumer goods and services accounted for 15.30%. From the 42 listed companies 37 ended this week higher, four fell and one was unchanged. Industries Qatar led the traded this week with 14.05% of the total. United Development Company accounted for 12.60%. Qatar National Bank accounted for 7.98%.
