Qatar Exchange index was lighter by 160.01 points (1.90%) during this week to close at 8,240.39 points. Four companies of the 42 listed companies ended this week higher while 36 fell and two maintained status quo compared to last week. Qatar National Bank led the trading value during this week accounting for 15.67% of the total trading value. Industries Qatar came next with 15.59% followed by Barwa Real Estate with 13.34%. The market capitalization fell by 2.14% to reach QR 441,467,760,757.70 as compared to QR 451,143,030,529.31 at the end of previous week The trading value during this week decreased by 8.67% to reach QR 1,169,362,275.61 compared to QR 1,280,363,475.03. The banking and financial sector led trading value during this week with 43.04% of the total trading value. Services sector came next with 35.73%. Industrial sector ranked third accounting for 19.41% followed by the insurance sector with 1.83%. The trading volume decreased by 21.86% to reach 27,194,199 shares as against 34,800,790 shares, whie the number of transactions fell by 17.64%, to reach 18,865 transactions as compared to 22,906 transactions. The services sector led trading volume during this week accounting for 50.88% of the total trading volume. Banking and financial sector came next with 36.21%. Industrial sector ranked third, accounting for 11.52% followed by insurance sector, which accounted for 1.39%. Services sector led the number of trading transactions during this week with 43.64% of the total number of transactions. Banking and financial sector came next with 39.33%. Industrial sector ranked third accounting for 15.26% followed by insurance sector which accounted for 1.77%
