Nikkei snaps 4-day losing streak on bargain-hunting

Tokyo shares rose broadly Tuesday, with the Nikkei snapping its four-day losing streak, as a weaker yen and gains in overseas stocks encouraged investors to scoop up recently battered shares. 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average ended up 133.60 points, or 0.94%, from Monday at 14,411.27, according to Japan’s (Kyodo) News Agency. The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange finished 11.01 points, or 0.95%, higher at 1,165.94. Gainers were led by glass, services, and information and communication shares.
