Lao stock market closes down

The Lao stock market closed on Thursday down by 1.67 percent against the previous trading day.
The Lao Securities Exchange composite index decreased by 16.36 points to 965.07. A total of 12,000 shares worth about 58 million Lao kip (about 7218 U.S. dollars) changed hands at the stock market.
There are five companies listed at the Lao stock market. Souvanny Home Center Public Company (SVN) witnessed no trade. Petroleum Trading Lao Public Company (PTL) also had no trade. Lao World Public Company (LWPC) had no trade. Lao commercial bank Banque Pour Le Commerce Exterieur Lao (BCEL) stayed unchanged at 4,900 Lao kip (about 0.6 U.S. dollar) after trading. Shares of state-run energy giant Electricite du Laos Generation Public Company (EDL-Gen) fell by 2.08 percent to 4,700 Lao kip (about 58 U.S. cents).
