Indian stocks close 1.98 percent higher

The benchmark index of Indian equities market rallied Wednesday with 30-scrip sensitive index of Bombay Stock Exchange, Sensex, closing at 18,202.41 points, 353. 84 points or 1.98 percent up from the previous close. The Sensex saw a straight upward trade since its opening at 18, 000.30 and once attained 18,231.35 points.
