
The benchmark DAX index at the Frankfurt Stock Exchange on Tuesday closed up by 0.39 percent, putting days of losses to an end.
The DAX index opened higher and added 35.6 points. It closed at 9189.74 points after losing around 4.5 percent during the last five days. It is still not known whether this is a turning point, according to analysts.
Fresenius Medical Care AG & Co. advanced the most by 3.35 percent, followed by Deutsche Post AG, Bayer AG, SAP SE and K+S Aktiengesellschaft on the top risers list, which gained by 2.17 percent, 2.16 percent, 2 percent and 1.57 percent respectively.
Volkswagen AG Vz topped the list of the fallers, down by 1.62 percent. Deutsche Lufthansa AG was 1.5 percent lower. Commerzbank AG, Deutsche Bank AG and Daimler AG went down by 1.41 percent, 1.28 percent and 1.21 percent, respectively.
The turnover was 3.05 billion euros (around 4.09 billion U.S. dollars). Deutsche Bank AG was the most traded share of the day with a turnover of 270.21 million euros (around 362.66 million U.S. dollars).
