Egypt bourse gains EGP 5bn, index up 2.24%

The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) rebounded at the close of Monday's trading, backed by purchases of institutions and Arab and foreign investment funds.
The market capital achieved gains worth about 5 billion pounds to reach 501.5 billion pounds, after transactions hit about 773.1 million pounds.
The EGX 30 benchmark index leapfrogged by 2.24 percent to close at 9,109.23 points.
The broader EGX 70 index of the leading smaller and mid cap enterprises (SME) rose by 0.93 percent to 576.4 points.
The all-embracing EGX 100 index also increased by 1.3 percent to close at 1,125.15 points.
