Dollar in upper 118 yen zone in early Tokyo trading

The U.S. dollar changed hands in the upper 118 yen zone in Tokyo early Thursday.
At 9 a.m., the dollar was quoted at 118.62-63 yen compared with 118.45-55 yen in New York and 118.73-75 yen in Tokyo at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
The euro fetched 1.0776-0778 dollars and 127.83-85 yen against 1.0775-0785 dollars and 127.71-81 yen in New York and 1.0730-0731 dollars and 127.40-44 yen in Tokyo late Wednesday afternoon.
