Bangkok - QNA
Japanese shares fell and the yen surged after the Bank of Japan decided against any extra monetary easing.
As a result, Japan's Nikkei 225 finished 3.6% lower at 16,666.05.
In China, the mainland's Shanghai Composite index closed down 0.3% at 2,946.20, while in Hong Kong the Hang Seng edged up 0.1% to 21,388.03.
In South Korea, the benchmark Kospi index lost 0.7% to close at 2,000.93.
In Australia, Sydney's ASX/200 index closed up 0.7% at 5,225.40.
