Schneider Electric and SABIC Home of Innovation organized a workshop recently to provide the latest technologies in energy efficiency and smart buildings.
Titled “Energy Efficiency in Housing,” the workshop was held at the Home of Innovation building in Riyadh’s Techno Valley.
The event was attended by a number of entrepreneurs and business leaders, real estate developers and representatives from the Saudi Ministry of Housing and the Saudi Electricity Company.
The workshop aimed to showcase the latest solutions in energy saving in residential buildings and units, besides supporting the Saudi government’s efforts and its energy resources conservation vision.
During the workshop, Schneider Electric showcased its past experiences and success stories in the field of energy efficiency on both local and international levels.
The company also discussed its latest and best solutions available for the Saudi market in the field of residential buildings in order to attain the objective of the Saudi Vision 2030 targeted toward conserving energy resources and promoting optimal energy consumption.
The workshop also highlighted key challenges facing the energy sector due to the increased levels of local consumption, which has exceeded the global average.
Speaking about the workshop, Ziad Mortaja, Schneider Electric country president in Saudi Arabia, said: “We are proud of what Schneider Electric has achieved since its inception in the Kingdom 30 years ago.”
He added: “Schneider Electric has become a global leader in our area of expertise, building on quality and continuous development of our products, especially in the solutions of energy saving and efficiency while paying constant attention to the Saudization of the industry and providing job opportunities for the Saudi youth which will bring economic and social benefits to the Kingdom.”
He said that SABIC plays a pivotal role in supporting collaboration with energy companies and is making great efforts to keep pace with the latest in smart buildings and smart cities.
Fahd Al-Sherehy, vice president, Technology and Innovation at SABIC, said: “There is a strong relationship between Home of Innovation and Schneider Electric since the very first day of launching this initiative. Schneider Electric plays a key role in the success of the initiative through synergy efficiency solutions the company is seeking to implement in the Kingdom and the Home of Innovation served as an ideal platform for demonstrating the advanced models of these solutions.”
