Rotterdam - Anadolu

Turkish Airlines signed Sunday a commercial advertisement contract with Dutch football club Feyenoord at a ceremony in Rotterdam.
The agreement will allow Turkish Airlines to display its own advertisements at the De Kuip Stadium, Feyenoord magazine and social media accounts during the Royal Dutch Cup and UEFA Europa League matches.
Eric Gudde, Chief Executive Officer Feyenoord, and football players with the club who have Turkish roots, Kazim Richards and Bilal Basakcioglu, attended the signing ceremony at the stadium. Many Turkish Airlines officials and Turkish diplomats were also in attendance.
Turkish Airlines Rotterdam Head Ferhat Yerli said they were happy to sign a commercial contract with one of the most popular football teams.
“We have signed an agreement that will last until the end of this season. The commercials will also be displayed at the KNVB Cup organized by the Royal Dutch Football Association and the UEFA Europa League games,” Yerli said.
Gudde said the club was proud to bring two prominent brands together and hoped the agreement would turn into a sponsorship deal later on.
Fatih Cigal, the airline’s Deputy Head of Central Europe Marketing and Sale department, highlighted the potential for high-volume marketing between Holland and Turkey.
Cigal said Turkish Airlines had increased flights between the two destinations from four days to seven days in a week as of October 26.
Turkish Airlines, one of the biggest airline companies in the world, flies to 261 cities worldwide.
According to Turkish Airlines, around 41 million passengers traveled with ‘Europe's best’ airline between January and September 2014, which was a 14 percent increase within the same period last year.
