Spanish biggest companies to participate in Egypt economic summit in March

Minister of Industry and Trade Monir Fakhry Abdel Nour announced Thursday that a delegation of the biggest Spanish companies will participate in Egypt's economic summit due in March.
The economic conference will be a decisive step in the implementation of the ambitious program of the government which aims at achieving high growth rates via attracting more foreign investments, he said.
The event will shed light on the wide reforms that the government implemented within the past few months to restore financial and economic stability in Egypt, Abdel Nour said.
This came during Abdel Nour's speech during his visit to Madrid in the inauguration of the Egyptian-Spanish business forum organized by the Spanish Confederation of Employers' Organizations (CEOE).
Abdel Nour asserted that the Egyptian government is keen on facing the challenges to put Egypt back on the right track to restore the trust of the markets and investors whether Egyptians or foreigners.
Abdel Nour also lauded the CEOE role in boosting the economic and political ties between both states.
After the inauguration of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, the government stared applying a series of economic reforms, he said.
Abdel Nour reviewed the economic reforms that took place to boost economy and investments topped by diversifying energy sources used in Egypt.
These reforms lead to restoring trust in the business climate in Egypt, he said.
The minister also inked an agreement to establish joint Egyptian-Spanish business council that targets promoting bilateral relations in trade and economy and establishing investment partnerships between private sectors in both countries.
On the other hand, Abdel Nour held a round-table meeting with a number of Spanish thinkers on the current situation in Egypt.
Abdel Nour also met with his Spanish opposite number on mutual cooperation in the fields of industry, infrastructure and new and renewable energy.
