The Wa’i Award, launched by the Ministry of Health and represented by the Awareness Department, highlighted the positive cooperation between the public and private sectors. The award covered individuals, companies and charities. The competition between both sectors aims at raising the health awareness of all members of society in order to reduce the risk of diseases while boosting health awareness.
Following directives of the health minister, Saudi retail pharmacy chain Nahdi has affirmed its intention to be a strategic health partner for the community. An awareness program will spur efforts to have a healthy society.
Enhancing health awareness among various segments of society and encouraging people to adopt a healthy lifestyle is the message that Nahdi aims to spread. Nahdi seeks to improve the quality of people’s lives through dedicated programs and campaigns that are focused on increasing the people’s knowledge.
The initiative is called “Pulse of Hope” whose target is to reach out to people, bringing about improvement in the lives of 5 million people by 2020.
The program is based on three mottos: Promoting responsibility and management of diabetes while improving vaccination rates to reduce preventable diseases; promoting healthy lifestyle through nutrition and fitness to reduce obesity rate across the country; and promoting mother- and child-care initiatives, bridging the knowledge gap during the child’s growing mind.
Nahdi claims to have the Health Ministry’s full confidence as one of the most reliable health care providers in the private sector.
The response to the Wa’i competition is an affirmation of the depth of public-private partnership for the benefit of society.
Nahdi said it is committed to instilling hope in all segments of Saudi society.
Through its educational initiatives, Nahdi said, it aims at providing superior health-care services to Saudis in order to accomplish the vision of creating a healthier and prosperous society. The company said it is working to expand its partnership with the Health Ministry in order to contribute toward Vision 2030.
