Detecon Al-Saudia (Detasad), which has been providing innovative telecommunications and IT services in Saudi Arabia for more than 35 years, has launched the Sahaba secure enterprise cloud.
The company is a fine example of successful Saudi-German partnership, with FAL Holding and Detecon International, a Deutsche Telekom Group company, as its shareholders.
Felix Wass, Detasad president, said: “We aim to be a key contributor to the achievement of the ambitious plans of Vision 2030 and the National Transformation Plan 2020.”
He added: “We believe that innovation, flexible pricing and costing models, a strong focus on quality paired with unique capabilities to develop, implement and operate end-to-end ICT solutions from physical infrastructure to business intelligence and application layer allow us to provide specific value to our public and private sector clients.”
Wass said the Detasad Sahaba cloud offering forms a key component and platform in achieving this aim. “Sahaba — Secure Enterprise Cloud” is an OpenStack-based cloud solution developed in a strategic partnership between Detasad and RedHat on a Dell reference architecture.
“The adoption of Sahaba by several major Saudi co-operations allowed them to reduce operational costs, increase their agility and together with Detasad professional services reduced deployment times for new applications significantly while ensuring that all data remains in the Kingdom,” said Wass.
He said that security has been designed into Sahaba as an integral part rather than an optional component and afterthought. “The global cyberattacks over the last two weeks confirm again that our significant investments in security and our own Security Operations Center will provide our Sahaba clients with investment and consumer protection and service uptime hardly achievable on conventional on-premise solutions or which are offered by public cloud providers,” he noted.
To mark the official launch of “Sahaba — Secure Enterprise Cloud,” Detasad has invited key decision-makers in the public and private sector to an event in Kempinski Bourj Rafal in Riyadh on Monday. The keynote speech by Justin Tacy, director DETECON Innovation Institute in the Silicon Valley (US), will analyze latest technology trends and their potential contribution to Vision 2030.
The event will be chaired by German Ambassador Dieter W. Haller.
