Riyadh - Arab Today

Careem, one of the region’s leading ride-hailing apps, has announced the launch of dedicated pick-up and drop-off zones at King Khaled International Airport in partnership with Riyadh Airport Company. The move aims to provide a convenient and smooth experience at the busy airport.
The partnership grants Careem captains access to allocated parking spots at departure and arrival gates at all airport terminals.
The agreement between Careem and Riyadh Airport Company marks the first such collaboration between the ride-hailing app and an airport. Careem seeks to replicate the partnership with other airports across the Kingdom.
Muath Khilfawi, Careem general manager of Riyadh and Qassim, said: “Careem is the largest transportation provider at the country level and offers very attractive prices. With a team consisting of tens of thousands of captains, and with Allah’s will, we are confident of upgrading traveler experience in Riyadh and hopefully the entire Kingdom.”
He added: “Our partnership with Riyadh airport is considered unique as it is the first of its kind in the region ... This strategical approach will improve the general air travel experience in the Kingdom and we are proud of this accomplishment.”
Saleh Ibrahim Al-Rasheed, CEO of Riyadh Airport Company, said: “Our strategic vision for Riyadh airport is to enforce the utmost global standards of air travel, as airports welcome visitors to the city. We believe Careem contributes in elevating and assuring quality and services at the airport as well as supporting local captains to find work, ultimately increasing their incomes.”
Since its humble beginnings in 2012, Careem has witnessed a growth rate of 30 percent per year. Careem operates in 75 cities in the MENA region and has over 10,000 captains.
Careem is the largest mover of people in Saudi Arabia, operating in 50 cities across the country.
Since going live in the Kingdom in 2013, Careem has quickly established itself as one of the most innovative companies in Saudi Arabia and has played an instrumental role in simplifying the lives of women in the country, providing them with a reliable means to get to their place of work and back home. Careem has also partnered with the Saudi government to create a diverse range of employment opportunities and driving initiatives that directly benefit Saudi residents.
