Industry and Commerce Minister Dr. Hassan bin Abdullah Fakhroo praised the great achievement made by one of the Bahraini companies: Patients Know Best (PKB) for having won an estimated USD 77,000 cash prize awarded to the company by Unlimited (UK-incorporated) grantable to socially effective firms in the United Kingdom. PKB's founder and CEO Dr. Mohammed Al-Obaidli who is specialized in IT and computer science especially freelance medical and healthcare programs was able to create a medical records' system individually manageable by patients themselves which is the first of its type worldwide. PKB is one of eight firms which won this award in the United Kingdom as part of a capital contents organized there. The award sum equals the amount obtained by the company from investors in the Silicon Valley, USA. On this occasion, Dr. Mohammed Al-Obaidli was enthusiastically proud for having won such appreciation and recognition from Unlimited and obtaining an investment opportunity from the Silicon Valley, which reflects their international competitiveness and their ability to help millions of patients all over the world. American investors praised the achievement of PKB Company and a number of teaching hospitals in the United Kingdom affiliated with the National Health Service (NHS) had become clients of PKB since the start of 2012. PKB works in association with the UK-based Charity Society (IKU), in the UK, USA, Nigeria and South Africa under an ambitious global expansion plan to help patients suffering from rare genetic diseases.
