Ankara - Irna

Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said on Thursday Iran-Turkey ties have been everlasting and eternal. He made the remarks addressing the Turkish parliament debate over the country’s budget bill. Davutoglu's remarks were broadcast live on TV program. The foreign minister was questioned by members of parliament from Turkish opposition parties protesting Turkish foreign policy and the countries cool ties with Iran and Syria. Opposition lawmakers are critical of the Turkish government's permission to build NATO anti-missile site and the government's interference in Syria. Davutoglu denied that Iran-Turkey relations have been strained and said that Turkish high ranking officials including President Abdullah Gul, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan well know that Iran’s official attitude to Turkey is based on deep brotherhood and friendship. Denying any Turkish interference in Syria, Davutoglu said Turkey respects Syria’s national soveignty and backs establishing peace and security in that country.
