Seoul - Yonhap

South Korea's investment to China surged 45.6 percent on-year in the first half, outpacing the inflow of money from Japan for the first time in eight years, a report by an international trade association showed Wednesday.
According to the Korea International Trade Association (KITA), local companies invested US$2.8 billion in China in the January-June period, making it the fourth-largest country to pour funds into the world's No. 2 economy. Only Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore invested more than South Korea. The overall inflow of funds reaching China grew by 2.2 percent compared to the year before.
