Japanese Economy, Trade and Industry Minister Yukio Edano, currently visiting Saudi Arabia, has agreed to boost bilateral cooperation with the Kingdom in a wide range of fields including renewable energy and energy saving. The Japanese minister, in a meeting with Saudi ministers including Oil Minister Ali Al-Nuaimi, also agreed to cooperate on a desalination project for seawater and researching and testing of photovoltaic power generation, according to Japan''s (Kyodo) News Agency. Tokyo will also give assistance through training Saudis in power-saving technologies in Japan and will consider in the future helping with industrial development utilizing supercomputers, according to Japanese officials.
