Egypt and Belarus have inked a cooperation protocol to develop joint trade relations, the Belarusian Ministry of Economy said on Thursday.
The protocol was signed during a meeting between Belarusian Economy Minister Nikolai Snopkov and Egyptian Trade and Industry Minister Mounir Fakhri Abdel-Nour, InterFax reported.
Belarusian Minister of Trade Valentin Chekanov said that his country was invited by Egypt to send experts to participate in the project of the Suez Canal.
The Canal is being developed and Belarus may join not only in the reconstruction process, but also in the establishment of infrastructure there, Chekanov said, adding that the two sides also agreed to cooperate in the fields of industry, agriculture, science, sports, tourism, and health care.
