As many as 63 ships transited the Suez Canal on Sunday, with a total cargo of 3.8 million tons, said the canal's authority chief Mohab Mamish.

The south-bound convoy included 37 vessels carrying around 2.4 million tons, said Mamish in a press release.

The north-bound convoy comprised 26 ships laden with about 1.4 million tons, added the statement.

The rise in transiting ships show a recovery in the world trade, it noted
