Two large Danish vessels affiliated with Maersk, an international business conglomerate operating in global trade, shipping and energy, crossed the Suez Canal on Monday.

“Mogens Maersk” crossed the vital waterway as part of the south-bound convoy, sailing from the Mediterranean to the Red Sea, a navigation source at the Suez Canal Authority said.

It was coming from Morocco en route to Singapore with a load of 200,000 tons, the source added.

The other vessel “Mathilde Maersk” crossed the opposite side from the Red to the Mediterranean Sea with a cargo load of 200,000 tons.
