Doha - QNA

The Ministry of Economy and Trade announced today that its judicial inspectors have seized counterfeit and expired goods during an inspection tour of the northern areas of Qatar.
The Ministry said it seized in a store in Al-kheraitiyat counterfeit accessories for international trademarks being sold as genuine ones as well as a shop selling fake spare parts and auto accessories and fake products including polishes, paints and anticorrosion product.
The Ministry said it reserves the seized quantity to complete legal proceedings against the two stores and to fine them an amount starting from QAR 6, 000 and up to a million, noting that this inspection is part of the campaign to address the phenomenon of cheating, manipulation and reduction of the proliferation of counterfeit goods in the market.
