The Foreign Minister, Prof. Ibrahim Ghandour, said that the President of the Republic, Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir, and the President of Egypt, Abdul-Fattah Al-Sisi, have affirmed, on the sidelines of the Arab summit in Jordan, firmness of the ties between Sudan and Egypt and the keenness to maintain contacts between the two countries for surpassing any obstacles.
He said in a press statement at Khartoum Airport upon return of President Al-Bashir from Jordan that the two leaders have affirmed the continuity of relations between Sudan and Egypt at all levels, especially at the levels of the foreign ministries and the security organs for surpassing any obstacles in the bilateral relations.
Prof. Ghandour indicated that President Al-Bashir also met at the Arab summit in Jordan with the elected Somali President and congratulated him on his election, adding that President Al-Bashir assured the Somali President about Sudan readiness to support Somalia, especially in the field of education.
He said that President Al-Bashir has announced Sudan donation of 10,000 tons of sorghum to the affected areas in Somalia.
The Somali President has appreciated Sudan support to Somalia, especially at the training and higher education fields.
