The Environment Ministry
Cairo - MENA

The Environment Ministry has set a plan to swiftly contain the oil spills reported in the Red Sea area of Ras Gharib.

According to a statement by the ministry's crisis management department, a committee was dispatched to the area to inspect the oil contamination.

A long line of oil, 1,000 meter long and three meter wide, reached the coast near the General Petroleum Company, the statement said.

It added that no signs for contamination appear in the sea, adding it is limited to the shore.
