Riyadh - Arab Today

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman received Wednesday a copy of the 56th annual report of the General Auditing Bureau for the Hijri year 1436/1437.
The report includes leading financial results of the audits and performance controls carried out by the bureau, as well as recommendations based on the nature and the areas of audit. The king received President of the General Auditing Bureau Hussam bin Abdulmohsen Al-Anqari at Al-Yamamah Palace on Wednesday, accompanied by senior officials of the bureau.
King Salman expressed his thanks to all employees of the bureau for their efforts and wished them success in their service to their religion and homeland.
In turn, the president of the General Auditing Bureau delivered a speech in which he explained that the results are based on detailed reports about audits and controls that were reported to the parties concerned in a timely manner, in accordance with the auditing standards adopted by the bureau, the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions and regulations in force in the Kingdom.
He said officials of the bureau are aware of the importance of promoting constructive cooperation between parties included under its audits in order to improve government performance. The bureau not only aims to identify errors, irregularities and abuses, he explained, but also works to achieve added value by enhancing the concept of positive controls and monitoring, instilling principles of transparency, and contributing to the modernization and development of financial and accounting systems.
