Hukoomi Portal's 3rd Edition Launches
Doha - QNA

HE Minister of Transport and Communications Jassim bin Saif Al Sulaiti and HE Minister of Finance Ali Shareef Al Emadi on Tuesday launched the third edition of the e-government portal (Hukoomi) during Qatar's information and communication technology exhibition and conference (QITCOM 2017), currently organized by the Ministry of Transport and Communications at Qatar National Convention Center under the theme "Qatar Towards a Smart Future." The third edition of Hukoomi has seen a major transformation in terms of interface and content as well more focus on the experiences and suggestions of users.
Speaking to QNA, HE Al Sulaiti said the third edition is "very advanced" and has all the information anyone may need such as renewal of registrations and bill retrieval and payment, adding that the service didn't leave out any sector that matters to people and the needs of people from all sectors of citizens and residents were taken into consideration.
For his part, Tareq Al Emadi, head of the e-government portal (Hukoomi) at the Ministry of Transport and Communications, said the ministry is keen on developing and updating the portal on a regular basis so it features the latest technologies as other similar portals across the world and includes all the services and information launched by ministries and government and semi-government entities.
The Hukoomi portal chief said launching the new edition reflects Qatar's keenness on achieving the goals of Qatar Digital Government 2020 Strategy, enhancing information technologies, developing integrated electronic services to facilitate users' access to government information and services. He added that studies and analyses were made based on user experiences so that the new edition would feature the best experiences and practices.
According to Hukoomi reports, the public are increasingly using the portal. Nearly 5 million visits were made to the portal and 28 million pages were browsed in 2016. Up to 300 users access the portal at the same moment from more than 180 world countries.
Hukoomi had signed cooperation agreements on content management and service support with a number of ministries in order to ensure the publishing of the most recent data and servies through the portal.
The service debuted in 2008 and has been updated in 2010 to add more information and services. It currently has detailed information on more than 1,300 services, including around 650 electronic services that companies and individuals can completely process online in the fields of health, education and business.
In addition, Hukoomi features a guide that includes contact information of ministries, government and semi-government institutions and important entities of public interest.
