Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab agreed Saturday to establish new projects in South Sinai province.
About EGP 50 million will be allocated from the Tourism Promotion Fund to establish a water desalination plant in el-Tor city with a capacity of 10,000 cubic meters per day.
Necessary funds will be provided for developing the Agricultural Credit Bank-owned granaries to help farmers supply their wheat inside the province instead of transferring it to Suez.
Mahlab, who is currently visiting South Sinai, held a meeting with the province's executive body.
He stressed the need to enforce the Environmental Protection Act to deal with any infringements, especially in natural reserves.
